About Me
My approach to therapy is to create a collaborative environment where you can explore your psyche and concerns with a sense of guided agency. Think of me as your "training wheels" for discovering who you are on the deepest levels and how your life experiences shape your past, present, and future. While I work to ensure our space is safe, I'm also willing to use “tough love” when the work calls for it. Part of the process is learning to sit with discomfort and ambiguity while still remaining an agent in your own narrative.
I integrate various approaches to therapy with one thing in mind: not just helping you survive, but thrive as a self-actualized individual. This work goes beyond symptom management by examining the psyche at both conscious and unconscious levels. I work best with individuals seeking depth and meaning-oriented psychotherapy, with the goal of helping you find purpose in life and embrace personal responsibility for your choices.
One area I'm particularly drawn to is dreamwork. During my practicum at the Jung Center of Evanston, I collaborated with clients on psychodynamic dreamwork to analyze the personal and archetypal content arising from the unconscious. If you're open to it, exploring your dreams and how unintegrated aspects of the psyche shape your conscious wellbeing can be a deeply insightful and enriching experience.
My background as a Jewish person and grandson of a Holocaust survivor is central to both my personal and clinical philosophy: empowering individuals to become their most authentic selves, even in the face of real obstacles. Outside the therapy room, I'm a guitarist, singer, and songwriter who writes and plays music with my band. I also love spending time outdoors, reading, and gaming.
