About Me

Choosing a therapist can be an intimidating process, but it’s worth the effort to find someone who can build a relationship based on trust and mutual care, curiosity, and respect.

My work is built on a foundation of Anti-Oppressive Practice, a social work methodology that demands person-centered, humanistic work that recognizes how systems of oppression and liberation are entwined in mine and my clients’ lives. I listen with deep curiosity and a critical eye to build both trust and belief in a better future state. I center my practice in harm reduction and building agency, which pushes me to approach my clients’ through their own lens first, following their goals and points of concern while also providing a second look at their possibly unhelpful thought patterns.

I also try to help my clients view their situation from an ecological perspective; therapy takes place between individuals, but as clients and therapists we do not exist in vacuums, and I bring an awareness of social and relational structures into session to help my clients recognize their own agency and positionality as it relates to their emotional and mental health. I have trained with narrative therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and relational therapy, as well as CBT and ERP.

I am especially suited for work with clients who experience depression and anxiety, OCD, issues related to self-harm or self-injury, dissociation and depersonalization including DID or “systems”/”plurality”, complex trauma along with relational and chronic trauma, issues related to kink, non-monogamy, or sex, personality disorders, issues related to chronic illness or disability and navigating early / emerging adulthood (college, workplace entry, life changes). I have clinical experience with emerging adults and adolescents through middle age; LGBTQ populations especially WLW, transgender and nonbinary and/or gender non-conforming clients of all kinds, and clients with atypical neurotypes (ADHD, autism, OCD). I am also available to work with couples and non-traditional relationships or family structures, particularly queer and polyamorous/non-monogamous relationships.

Prior to joining Chicago Counseling Collective, I worked in social services and community-based agency settings, including in partnership with Chicago Public Schools.
